Hi Sarah,

Thanks for the reply. Your message in it of itself is step one in making amends on behalf of Orbitz... a baby step...

My record locator number is AP110101NPMPIZ31

Looking forward to your reply. Let me know if you need my email address - it should be saved in the case file.

I had a similar experience and will never book a hotel or flight on Orbitz again -- you are always much safer to book at the airline or hotel site which will still allow you to cancel a flight or room (sometimes for a fee). I had planned a trip to europe and booked business class on orbitz. The flight cost over $5000. I had to cancel at the last minute. Since I booked the second leg of the trip through the airline directly, I called them and they canceled that leg of the flight for a $400 charge. I canceled on Orbitz online and received a cancellation notice. When I did not get a credit I called Orbitz and they said the flight was nonrefundable and I could only get something like a $200 credit back. I told them it would be a cold day in hell before I paid $5000 for a trip I didn't take and for which nothing of value was provided. Now here's the rub, the charge appears on my credit card as if it was from the airline. But of course the airline says they can do nothing about it because it was booked through Orbitz. And the credit card company says they cannot resolve a dispute with a merchant who has not charged for the service. So Orbitz sets up this complex agency relationship then refuses to act on behalf of the principle. Don't fall into their trap.

Hello,

I work for Orbitz Customer Relations, and I'd be glad to look into this for you. If you could respond back with your Orbitz Record Locator, we'll see what we can do to assist.

Thanks,
